Nexus Packaging

2025
As a core component of the Nexus product range launch, I was responsible for the end-to-end development of the physical packaging for the range. My remit involved the physical design of the primary containers and internal inserts, as well as the final visual application for individual SKUs and premium multi-product kits.
Sustainable Material Engineering & Prototyping
In alignment with the organisation’s environmental objectives, I prioritised a sustainable-first approach to the structural design. I facilitated a technical dialogue with third-party manufacturing partners to manage the quoting process and oversee the production of material-accurate prototypes. I conducted a comprehensive audit of biodegradable and recyclable substrates to ensure the packaging was environmentally responsible without compromising structural integrity.
To streamline stakeholder approval, I produced high-fidelity Blender animations to demonstrate "proof of concept" and unboxing ergonomics; a sample of this motion work is featured below.
Visual Identity & Functional Integration
The packaging aesthetic was developed in parallel with the overarching brand identity, requiring a balance between minimalist shelf appeal and functional utility. I explored various styling directions to establish a premium visual hierarchy that clearly differentiated the product range while maintaining a cohesive brand family feel.
A unique challenge involved the "Nexus Sensor Tool"—a credit-card-sized plastic implement used for device maintenance. Rather than allowing the tool to remain loose in the box, I designed a bespoke internal housing system that integrated the card directly into the unboxing experience, reinforcing the product’s high-end positioning and ensuring all components were securely managed.
