During my time working with Specialist Journeys, I was responsible for creating the visual conceptualisation and editorial layouts for their diverse portfolio of travel and tour brands. My objective was to modernise the aesthetic of their publications, ensuring each holiday offering was presented with a sophisticated, dynamic energy that resonated with a discerning clientele.
Editorial Strategy and Layout Design
To maintain a competitive edge and drive maximum customer engagement, I moved away from cluttered traditional layouts in favour of a clean, minimalist editorial style. This approach emphasised:
Visual Storytelling: Utilising high-impact imagery to evoke the atmosphere of the destinations.
Dynamic Composition: Developing bespoke double-page spreads (DPS) that balance immersive photography with structured, legible typography.
Cover Artistry: Designing high-conversion front covers that established an immediate emotional connection with the traveller while maintaining brand consistency.
Multi-Channel Advertising
Beyond long-form brochures, I was responsible for translating these brand identities into high-performance print advertising. I developed a suite of advert concepts and scalable templates for various high-end magazine publications. These templates were engineered for versatility, allowing the marketing team to rapidly deploy consistent, on-brand messaging while maintaining the "premium feel" established in the primary brochures.
